On the afternoon of Thursday 1st August 2024, the Media, Youth, Sports and Culture Committee (MYSCC), led by Chairperson Hon, Wavel Woodcock, conducted a visit at the Seychelles Tourism Academy (STA) situated at La Misere. Hon. Woodcock was accompanied by Vice-Chairperson Hon. Philip Arissol, Hon. Georges Romain, Hon. Flory Larue, Hon. Rachel Spiro, and Hon. Conrade Gabriel with assistance provided by Assistant Committee Secretary Mrs. Donatienne Chetty.

The aim of the visit was to check on the status of school facilities and see the progress made, following their last visit the year prior. A tour of the school was conducted to give the Committee Members a greater insight into the up-to-date facilities within the school.

After the tour, the Committee met with the STA Student Council Committee where they had the honour to put forth their concern and challenges, they were facing. After meeting with the Student Council Committee, the MYSCC Committee also meet the Management Board of STA, where they discussed several issues including the demolition of the school and the challenges they are currently facing is to identify a relocation site for the school to continue its operations.
