The Hon. Speaker commenced by extending a warm greeting to Hon. Dersso and his delegation. Hon. Dersso then took the opportunity to discuss his ongoing work with ACHPR. One of the primary reasons for the working visit to Seychelles was to meet with various stakeholders and organizations in order to gain a sense of how the responsibilities to protect human rights are respected and carried out. The delegation conducted a brief assessment of the Legislature through the in-depth consultation of the Hon. Speaker, noting the vital role of parliament in protecting and upholding the rights of citizens. The delegation also wished to extend the reach of the ACHPR in Seychelles, and foster a sense of cooperation and friendship moving forward.
