The ceremony commenced with welcoming remarks by Hon. Speaker Mancienne, who expressed his gratitude and emphasised the importance of maintaining a strong working relationship with SIAH. He highlighted that this collaboration is essential for the students’ development, providing them with valuable opportunities to expand their knowledge through such exchanges.

The Director of SIAH, Ms. Marie made a speech highlighting the importance of youth empowerment in the agricultural sector and the value of stakeholder engagement in this process through these similar MOUs and frameworks. The MoU was subsequently signed by the Clerk, Mrs Isaac and the Director Ms. Marie in a special signing ceremony.

This is the second MoU signed between the two institutions, cementing their continuous and willing collaboration. It facilitates a work-based apprenticeship program for SIAH students in ornamental horticulture and landscaping, as well as encouraging knowledge exchange capacity building, and sustainability within the National Assembly precinct

Under the MoU, students who have taken part in the work-based placement have had a real impact over the last three years. They have improved the precinct's overall atmosphere and helped to beautify the grounds of the National Assembly while also gaining a wealth of knowledge and skills.
