This term, the Scrutiny of Bills Committee met with a number of Sponsors. The Bills Committee is led by Chairperson Hon. Clifford Andre, and comprised of Vice-Chairperson Hon. John Hoareau, Hon. Gervais Henrie, Hon. Sathya Naidu, Hon. Wallace Cosgrow, Hon. Churchill Gill, and Hon. Johan Loze. Assistance is provided by Committee Secretaries Mrs. Imaan Toulon and Ms. Brigitte Contoret, and Assistant Secretary Ms. Vanessa Sinon.
The first meeting was concerned with the Licenses (Amendment) Bill, 2024 – Bill No.1 which was tabled in the House on Wednesday 3rd of April, 2024. The sponsors present at the meeting were Principal Secretary for Investment, Entrepreneurship and Industry Mr. Michael Nalletamby, Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles Licensing Authority Mr. Ronny Antat, Legal Draftsperson from the Attorney General’s Chamber Mrs. Irene Simara, and Assistant Principal Draftsperson Mr. George James.
The second meeting was concerned with the Compounding of Prescribed Offences Bill, 2024 – Bill No.2 which was tabled in the House on Wednesday 17th of April, 2024. The sponsor present at the meeting was Attorney General Mr. Frank Ally.
