Members of the Pan African Parliament (PAP) from South Sudan and Tanzania paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon Roger Mancienne on Monday 20th June, 2022.
The Speaker was accompanied by the Seychelles PAP Members namely Hon. Terence Mondon as the Head of Delegation, Hon. Sylvanne Lemiel, Hon. Wavel Woodcock and Hon. Conrad Gabriel.
The meeting was mainly for Ambassador Albino Mathom Aboug, Special Presidential envoy for the South Sudan and also Leader of the South Sudan delegation to the Pan African Parliament, who will be participating as a candidate for the PAP Presidency to introduce himself and highlight his agenda. The election is to take place in the upcoming Ordinary PAP Session to be held very soon.
Ambassador Aboug informed the Speaker that his main aim is to bring PAP to a higher level, to encourage the set up of regional trade within the African inner island countries, to engaged more men and women to participate in the Parliament.
The Speaker, emphasized the need for peace within the african countries and encouraged the participation of women in politics. He wished Ambassador Albino Aboug good luck in his deliberations and participation in the election of the Pan African Presidency.
Their visit was followed after by a brief interactive meeting with delegation of Seychelles.
