The Honorable Member, Mrs Regina Esparon was born on the 9th August 1965. She is married with three children.
After completing her studies at the Regina Mundi Convent in 1981 and the School of Health Studies in 1984, she became a registered Nurse & Midwife. Throughout her Nursing career that spanned more than a decade, she worked at several Clinics on Silhouette Island and various Districts on the Island of Mahe, as well as serving as a Member of the Executive Committee of the Nurses Association.
In 1998, Hon. Esparon began her political career as a National Assembly candidate for the District of Glacis for the United Opposition Party and to date remains an elected member of the Seychelles National Party (SNP) Executive Committee. In 1998, she also served on the Public Service Appeals Board.
From 2002 to 2006, she was elected as a Member of the 3rd National Assembly for the District of Glacis for the Seychelles National Party (SNP). In the years to follow, in the 4th National Assembly, she was a proportionally elected Member of the National Assembly for SNP. In 2010, Hon. Esparon became the Chairperson of the Seychelles National Party Women’s Organization until 2017.
In September 2016, she was elected as a Member of the 6th National Assembly for the District of Glacis for the Opposition Party, Linyon Demokratik Seselwa (LDS).
She has now been re-elected as the MNA for the district of Glacis for the 7th National Assembly Cohort.
Hon. Esparon is the Chairperson of the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus, a Member of the House Committee and the Pan African Parliament (PAP).
