On the morning of Friday 17th May 2024, the Speaker of the National Assembly Hon. Roger Mancienne officially unveiled the new Administration Block of the National Assembly Precinct. The new structure was officially opened for use by the National Assembly Service, particularly those of the Parliamentary Corporate Services and Facilities Department. This includes Administrative staff, Health and Safety, Housekeeping, Stores and Purchasing, among others.

In attendance were various Honourable Members, as well as the National Assembly Service Staff. Making brief introductory remarks was the Clerk of the National Assembly Mrs. Tania Isaac who noted that this additional infrastructure was one that would immediately serve to alleviate the existing spacing constraints and allow for staff to experience a more conducive working environment.

Special thanks were conveyed to the Hon. Speaker, Members, and staff for their support and patience in the development of this new building, and well wishes were given to those moving into their new space.

 

Administration Block

 

Hon. Speaker Mancienne gave a firm message of support and noted that this was one of many developments that the National Assembly has planned with the goal of empowering and easing the current limitations of office and storage space for the Service. It was noted that this building was a notable milestone worthy of celebration, as the National Assembly continually strives to provide the best possible atmosphere and resources for all hard-working and dedicated Service Staff.

Following this message, the Speaker and the Clerk had the honour of unveiling the plaque and declaring the new Administration Block officially opened. A tour of the facility was conducted before the ceremony came to a close.
