The Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Roger Mancienne met with the Auditor General Mr. Gamini Herath on the morning of Monday 5th December, 2022. Mr. Herath had the honour to present a copy of the Annual Report 2021.
The Auditor General conveyed that this report falls in line with his offices’ mandate in assessing whether government expenditure and the numerous ongoing programmes are operating in accordance with the current benchmarks of economic efficiency and capability. Mr. Herath spoke of the significance in making such reports available to the National Assembly, which in turn will be greatly beneficial to the general public.
Hon. Mancienne thanked Mr. Herath for the continuous effort and tremendous work undertaken in ensuring informative, transparent and proficient reports are available and looks forward to future reports from the Auditor General’s Office.
