The Honorable Member, Mr. Wavel Woodcock was born on the 6th March 1982. He is married with three children.
In 1998, Hon. Woodcock completed his Seychelles National Examinations Certificate at the National Youth Service and went on to study further by completing his IGCSEs.
In 2001 he completed his studies at the Seychelles Polytechnic – School of Business and Secretarial Studies in English, French, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, and Information Technology. In 2013 he completed a Diploma in Marketing Management with the Association of Business executive UK and he recently completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Marketing.
Hon. Woodcock was a charismatic parish leader having overseen two parishes ranging from 60 to over 200 members. After leading parishes, Hon. Woodcock then went on to work in civil society. He was elected as the Youths, Culture & Sports Commissioner for CEPS and later went on to work at the Seychelles Children’s Foundation.
In 2015 he began his political career with the Lalyans Seselwa Party, he was the Personal Assistant of the Presidential Candidate. He was later chosen to be the representative of the Beau-Vallon District and later the representative of the Perseverance District for the Linyon Demokratik Seselwa (LDS) party.
In September 2016, he was elected as a Member of the 6th National Assembly for the District of Grand Anse Praslin for the Opposition Party, LDS.
Hon. Woodcock has been re-elected as the MNA for the District of Grande Anse Praslin for the 7th National Assembly cohort and is now the Chairperson of the Media Youth and Culture Committee and the Vice-Chairperson of the International Affairs Committee.
