The Honorable Member, Mr. Bernard Georges was born on 24 August 1955. He is married with no children.
He is a lawyer by profession and has been active in politics since 1991.
On behalf of the United Opposition he unsuccessfully contested the parliamentary elections of 1993 and 1998 in Plaisance district.
In 2000 he was transferred by his party to become the party representative for Les Mamelles. In 2001, he was appointed a proportional member of the National Assembly, representing the SNP opposition.
He was directly elected to the National Assembly for Les Mamelles electoral area in 2002 and 2006. In the Fourth Assembly, Hon Georges served on the Standing Orders Committee and Bills Committee as a member.
In September 2016, and again in October 2020, he was elected as a Member of the National Assembly for the District of Les Mamelles for the Opposition Party, Linyon Demokratik Seselwa (LDS).
As well as representing the District of Les Mamelles in the National Assembly, Hon. Georges is also the Leader of Government Business in the Assembly.
He shares his political duties with a busy legal career and sits as a Judge of the COMESA Court of Justice.
