On Tuesday 16th of July 2024, the Finance and Public Accounts Committee (FPAC), chaired by the Leader of the Opposition Hon. Sebastien Pillay, met with the Islands Development Company (IDC). The meeting involved the participation of Chief Executive Officer Mr. Glenny Savy, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Mr. Christian Lionnet, the Deputy CEO and Public Relations and Communications Manager Mr. Michael Govinden.
Accompanying Hon. Pillay was Hon. Georges Romain, Hon. Conrad Gabriel, Hon. Richard Labrosse, Hon. Churchill Gill, and Hon. Sandy Arissol, with assistance provided by Committee Secretary and Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly Ms. Alexandria Faure, and Second Secretary Ms. Shannon Surman. The aim of the meeting was for the Committee to gain a financial overview of the IDC’s production of prawns on Coëtivy Island.
The delegation provided the Committee with relevant information pertaining to the financial performance, market trends, sales potentials, and future plans of the ongoing production. The FPAC made assurances of further engagements with the IDC, before the fruitful meeting came to a close.
