MESSAGE FOR INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PARLIAMENTARISM 2022
On the occasion of the International Day of Parliamentarism today, June 30th, I wish to address a message of appreciation to all those who have served and who are serving in the National Assembly of Seychelles.
Our National Assembly embodies our democratic system of government in being composed of the elected representatives of the people of Seychelles.
We are conscious of the noble role that the people have entrusted us with and that we are called upon to play always with integrity to the best of our ability. We wish to carry the aspirations for the best governance for our country.
My tribute to parliamentarians past and present recognizes the special responsibilities of this role which requires devotion, extra time and sacrifice of private intentions. It is my hope that our Parliamentarians will always be up to the call of leadership and example in public affairs.
I take the occasion to thank all staff of the National Assembly for the assistance and support they give for us to carry out our functions and all the other Government entities who are our partners in fulfilling our role under the Constitution. We are honoured with the respect and support we receive from those we serve.
