The newly accredited High Commissioner of the Republic of South Africa to the Republic of Seychelles, Dr. Hlamalani Nelly Manzini met with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Roger Mancienne this morning. Speaker Mancienne was accompanied by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Gervias Henrie, the Clerk, Mrs. Tania Isaac, and the Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly, Ms. Alexandria Faure.
Ambassador Manzini and Speaker Mancienne spoke of the various areas of common interests and spoke of the long standing bilateral relationship between Seychelles and South Africa. Both agreed to further strengthen the existing ties into new avenues in sectors such as agriculture and fisheries.
In addition, Deputy Speaker Henrie, also discussed areas for further collaboration, especially between the two National Parliaments whereby partnerships can be established for the exchanges of best practices and the sharing of ideas and experiences.
The Hon. Speaker Mancienne thanked the High Commissioner for her visit and highlighted that South Africa and Seychelles should continue to support each other on valuable issues that concern both countries.
