The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Seychelles, H.E Mr. Artem Alexandrovich Kozhin, met with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Nicholas Prea this afternoon, accompanied by the Deputy Clerk, Mrs. Tania Isaac.
During the meeting, H.E Mr. Kozhin noted that the parliamentary relations between Seychelles and Russia is healthy but could be strengthened further through parliamentary exchanges and programs. This included the active interactions between the Parliamentary Friendship Committee of Seychelles and that of Russia through the International Affairs Committee (IAC) of the National Assembly.
H.E Mr. Kozhin proposed several bilateral cooperation in 2021 between the two parliaments to coincide with the 45th anniversary of Bilateral Relations between the two countries and 140th anniversary of the first Russian Vessel that came to the shores of Seychelles.
The Ambassador and Hon. Prea expressed their desire to have parliamentary staff exchanges for capacity building and sharing of best practices.
Also present for the meeting was Mr. Maxim Matasov, the First Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Seychelles.
