The Newly Accredited Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Seychelles, H.E Mr. Artem Alexandrovich Kozhin, met with the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Ahmed Afif on Friday the 13th March 2020, who was accompanied by the Deputy Clerk, Mrs. Tania Isaac.
The Deputy Speaker welcomed and congratulated the Ambassador on his accreditation.
During the meeting Ambassador Kozhin and Hon. Afif discussed avenues for further cooperation within the tourism, education, fisheries, maritime security surveillance, and economic sectors since there has been a great increase in the number of Russian visitors coming to the shores of Seychelles.
Moreover, H.E Mr. Kozhin expressed his appreciation that Seychelles took part in the Russia-Africa Summit in Sochi, Russia last year and stated that this would boost further bilateral relations.
H.E Mr. Kozhin noted that the Parliamentary relations between Seychelles and Russia is healthy but could be further strengthen through exchanges and programmes.
Also present for the meeting was Mr. Maxim Matasov, the First Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Seychelles
