The objective of the workshop was to ensure that the legal and policy framework surrounding the Model Law on Gender Equality and Equity, as well as the draft Model Law itself, fully incorporate the views and aspirations of the people of Africa, aligning with the mandate of the Pan-African Parliament. Recommendations and proposals discussed by attendees included health and reproductive rights, the rights of women in situations of armed conflict, participation in the political and decision-making processes, among other pertinent issues found across the continent.
