In accordance with Order 93, this Assembly resolves: –

(i)       to amend the Standing Orders in accordance with the draft of the proposed substantial amendments attached herewith; and

(ii)      to proceed to consider the amendments in light of the Report of the Standing Orders Committee dated 30 July 2019 and laid before the Assembly on the same day, without the need to further refer this motion to the Committee.

In accordance with Article 64(4) of the Constitution, this Assembly resolves to ratify the;

Treaty for the Establishment of the African Medicines Agency.

This Assembly resolves to authorise the accession of the Republic of Seychelles to the Protocol on Patents and Industrial Designs within the Framework of the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO).

In accordance with Article 104 of the Constitution of Seychelles and Standing Order 84, this National Assembly resolves to approve the setting up of a Select Committee to be known as the National Assembly Committee on Covid-19.

The proposed Terms of Reference of the Committee are as follows:

  1. To continue to encourage Government and relevant stakeholders to engage in a more inclusive and realistic consultation process with the population so as to adopt a comprehensive, clear and targeted strategic road map on the way forward in addressing the socio-economic challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.
  1. To examine and conduct oversight on the implementation of the work of Government high-level committees already set up.
  1. To conduct hearings with relevant stakeholders necessary to ensure that the national interest and human rights of individuals, and groups of individuals, are protected as far as is practicable.
  1. To report to the National Assembly as and when necessary.
  1. To engage with our existing foreign parliamentary-associated institutions and to rally support when necessary.
  1. To set up a help/hotline for public grievances related to the measures already in place.
  1. To engage in any other duties that the National Assembly may feel it appropriate to undertake.
