Job Vacancy: Senior Parliamentary Reporter

The National Assembly of Seychelles is seeking to recruit highly competent, committed, self-motivated and enthusiastic candidates for the following position:


  1. Senior Parliamentary Reporter

Working closely with the Principal Parliamentary Reporter, your main duties will be to:

(i)         Supervise the Parliamentary Reporting Unit

(ii)        Organize and administer the work rota of the Unit as per approved Assembly schedules

(iii)       Take and transcribe verbatim reports of the proceedings of the National Assembly

(iv)       Assist with the transcribing of verbatim reports of proceedings of Parliamentary Committees

(v)        Assist with proof reading typed verbatim reports for grammatical and typographical errors prior to posting verbatim on the National Assembly website


Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Office Management or Secretarial Studies


  • At least three years satisfactory performance as a Parliamentary Reporter, with proven supervisory and teamwork skills


Key Requisites

  • Post holder must display high standards of ethical conduct to subordinate staff and possess the ability to lead an effective and efficient Unit
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet typed verbatim deadlines
  • Will be required to work after normal office hours on days of Assembly sittings



The post is graded at Salary Band 5

Salary will depend on qualifications and experience.  Includes allowances
