The newly accredited Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Seychelles, H.E. Mr. Ryoichi Horie met with the Speaker, Hon. Nicholas Prea on Thursday morning.
The Speaker welcomed Ambassador Horie and congratulated him on his accreditation.
The friendly discussions focused on strengthening the partnership between Seychelles and Japan in various areas of common interests such as fisheries, tourism and the health sector.
During the meeting both the Ambassador and the Speaker, who was also accompanied by the Chairperson of International Affairs Committee, Hon. Jean Francois Ferrari, Ms. Jutta Alexis, the Clerk of the National Assembly and the Deputy Clerk, Mrs. Tania Isaac, expressed the desire to establish a Parliamentary Friendship Association between the Parliament of Japan and Seychelles to share best practices and develop bilateral relations.
Ambassador Horie was accompanied by the Japanese Chargé d’affaires, H.E Ambassador Makoto Tominaga, Ms. Ayaka Nojiri the Second Secretary, Mrs. Horie and Mr. Jarel Nibourette,the Economics and Political Assistant.
The Ambassador also paid a courtesy call to the Leader of Government Business, Hon. Charles De Commarmond.
