Courtesy Call by the Ambassador of the United States of America to Seychelles

The Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Seychelles, H.E. Mr. David Reimer, met with the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Ahmed Afif on Monday morning.

Hon. Afif welcomed Ambassador Reimer to the National Assembly and spoke of the various common interests that exists between the two countries. They discussed the existing areas of cooperation between the two countries and the areas in which the USA will be assisting Seychelles in the near future, such as maritime security and drug trafficking.

The meeting also involved discussions on the dynamic development of the National Assembly, especially in its expansive oversight not only in the Chamber but in Committee work.

Ambassador Reimer also paid a courtesy call to the Leader of the Opposition, Hon Wavel Ramkalawan and the Leader of Government Business, Hon. Charles De Commarmond

Hon. Afif was accompanied by the Clerk of the National Assembly, Ms. Jutta Alexis. Ambassador Reimer was accompanied by Ms. Megan Fluckiger, Science and Political Analyst to the Embassy and Ms. Marie-Annette Ernesta, Political/Economic Assistant to the US Consular Agency in Seychelles.
