The newly accredited Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Seychelles, H.E. Dr Alberto Pieriand and the Ambassador of the Republic of Brazil to Seychelles, H.E. Mr Antonio Augusto Martins Cesar, met with the Speaker separately this morning following their accreditation.
The Speaker congratulated both Ambassadors on their accreditation and welcomed them to the National Assembly.
During the meetings both Ambassadors discussed areas of common interests and collaboration with the Speaker, who was also accompanied by the Clerk of the National Assembly, Ms. Jutta Alexis and the Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly, Mrs. Tania Isaac.
Both discussions involved topics highlighting key areas that could be further developed for cooperation including the Blue Economy, as well as involving further collaborations that could be explored between the Parliaments of the two countries.
Ambassador Pieriand was accompanied by Honorary Consul for Italy in Seychelles, Mr Claudio Izzi and also paid a courtesy call to the Leader of Government Business, Hon. Charles De Commarmond and the Leader of the Opposition, Hon. Wavel Ramkalawan. Whilst Ambassador Cesar met with the Leader of Government Business.
