The newly accredited Ambassador Designate of the Republic of Mexico to the Republic of Seychelles, H.E. Mr. Erasmo Robert Martinez met with the Speaker, Hon. Nicholas Prea earlier today.
The Speaker congratulated Ambassador Martinez on his accreditation and presented him with a plaque of the National Assembly.
During the meeting both Ambassador Martinez and the Speaker discussed areas of common interests including the strengthening of relations between both countries through South-South cooperation, as well as exploring the challenges of Climate Change, especially in regards to the formulation of laws and policies to combat the monumental threats. The Ambassador also congratulated Seychelles on its progress thus far and highlighted the need for more bilateral agreements, exchanges of information and best practices.
The Speaker was accompanied by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Ahmed Afif, the chairperson of the International Affairs Committee, Hon Jean-Francois Ferrari, the Clerk, Ms. Jutta Alexis and the Deputy Clerk, Mrs. Tania Isaac.
Ambassador Martinez also paid a courtesy call to the Leader of Government Business, Hon. Charles De Commarmond.
