The National Assembly of Seychelles Committee on HIV/AIDS and SRHR and the Committee of Women Parliamentarians in collaboration with SADC PF organised two activities under the Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, HIV and Aids Governance Project on Friday 03rd and Saturday 04th August 2018 at the STC Conference Room.
Day one comprised of a half day forum to seek young persons’ views on the issue of HIV/AIDS and SRHR in Seychelles. Opinions received will be reviewed and analysed so as to enable Committee Members to work on relevant motions to be presented before the House that might culminate in amendments to current legislations governing the issues of HIV/AIDS and the sexual reproductive health and rights of adolescents.
Day 2 was a whole day workshop and also the closing ceremony of the Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, HIV and AIDS and Governance Project. This workshop provided a platform for the two National Assembly Committees, SADC PF representatives and local stakeholders to share their achievements which culminated in a set of recommendations that might persuade the donor country, Sweden, to push for the renewal of the project.
