Commonwealth Secretary-General, Rt Hon Patricia Scotland Visits the National Assembly

The Commonwealth Secretary-General, Rt. Hon Patricia Scotland made a Courtesy Call to the Deputy Speaker earlier today. On her official visit to the Seychelles, Hon. Scotland met with the Deputy Speaker who was accompanied by the Leader of Government Business, Hon.Charles De Commarmond, the Chairperson of the International Affairs Committee, Hon. Jean-Francois Ferrari and the Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly, Mrs Tania Isaac.

During the meeting both Hon. Scotland and Hon. Afif discussed the prospect of capacity building and the participation of the National Assembly in the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Forums, as well as the progress of the 6th Assembly. In addition, she also commended the National Assembly on its progress and on the good governance and stability that has been promoted in the country. Hon. Scotland also planted the endemic Bwa Sousouri tree in the National Assembly Commonwealth Garden to commemorate this special visit.
Hon. Scotland was accompanied by Mr. Senyo Agbohlah, Deputy Head, Office of the Secretary General and Ms. Josephine Latu-Sanft, Senior Communications Officer.
