We’re Hiring! Vacancies Open at the National Assembly of Seychelles


The National Assembly of Seychelles is looking for suitable and highly motivated candidates to fill the following positions:


Assistant Parliamentary Reporter

Main Duties

  1. Attend Assembly sittings as per approved schedule and assist with general duties
  2. Take and transcribe verbatim reports of the proceedings of the National Assembly
  3. Assist with the transcribing of verbatim reports of proceedings of Parliamentary Committees
  4. Assist with minor administrative duties and perform secretarial duties as may be assigned by the Clerk

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Secretarial Studies/Office Management
  • ‘O’ Levels – English and French OR
  • At least three years working experience as a Secretary

Other Requisites

  • The post holder must demonstrate the ability to work effectively without constant supervision and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines



Main Duties

  1. Mow the lawns, prune the bushes and trees for the purpose of giving the National Assembly grounds a manicured look and maintaining facilities in a safe and attractive manner
  2. Clean flower beds; plant seeds, foliage, flowering plants, trees or shrubs and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools to improve landscape appearance
  3. Remove debris from the grounds by collaborating with the Maintenance Team to make sure that the grounds and the building are always properly cared for at all times
  4. Take on special landscaping or planting projects as deemed necessary by the General Maintenance Supervisor
  5. Maintain the National Assembly’s Commonwealth Garden and making sure that the plants are receiving proper care
  6. Maintain the National Assembly’s Green House
  7. Keep the tool shed/store room clean and tidy at all times

Qualifications and Experience

  • 2+ years grounds keeping experience
  • Knowledge in the field of horticulture or landscaping would be an advantage 

Other Requisites

  • Must be a reliable worker who is able to perform routine tasks without supervision
  • Strong attention to details required
  • Good plant identification skills
  • Must have techniques to improve appearance of grounds
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Experience in handling pest and weed control chemicals
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to use own initiative when appropriate
