The newly accredited High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania accredited to Seychelles, H.E Dr. Pindi Chana met with the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Nicholas Prea this morning.
The Deputy Speaker welcomed Ambassador Chana congratulating her as the new accredited Ambassador.
During the meeting both the Deputy Speaker and Ambassador Chana discussed the prospect of strengthening of partnerships and cooperation between the Parliaments of the two countries, especially for exchange missions for officials and the Committees to learn on best practices. Although the two countries cooperate in a number of fields, connecting the two parliaments is extremely important, especially for the common interests on enactment of maritime security laws, poverty alleviation and combatting corruption. Further discussions were held on the unique cohabitation and the progress of the 6th National Assembly.
Ambassador Chana also paid a courtesy call to the Leader of Opposition, Hon. Wavel Ramkalawan and the Leader of Government Business, Hon. Charles De Commarmond and Hon. Simon Gill, whereby further talks were held.
The Ambassador was accompanied by Mrs Talha Mohammed Waziri, the Head of Chancery at the Tanzania High Commission. Also present for the meeting was the Chairperson of the International Affairs Committee, Hon. Jean-Francois Ferrari, the Vice-Chairperson of the International Affairs Committee, Hon. Clifford Andre and the Desk Officer for Tanzania at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ms Aissata Dia.
