THIS WEEK IN THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

4 Ministers will be in the Assembly this week.

The Minister Finance, Trade and Economic Planning, Mr. Peter Larose will answer a Private Notice Question by the Leader of the Opposition Hon. Wavel Ramkalawan relating CAA and the Tribunal, Judging the Case of Judge Durai Karunakawan.

Minister for Environment, Energy and Climate Change Mr. Didier Dogley and Minister for Habitat, Infrastructure and Land Transport Mr. Charles Bastienne will answer an Urgent Question tabled by Hon. Wavel Woodcock – Member for Grand Anse Praslin regarding the construction of 3 “Groins” on Praslin.

Minister for Environment, Energy and Climate Change, Mr. Didier Dogley will also answer another Urgent Question tabled by Hon. Churchill Gill – Member for Baie Ste Anne regarding the relocation of the present Electric Station on Praslin.

Minister for Home Affairs, Mrs. Mitcy Larue will also answer an Urgent Question tabled by Hon. Clifford Andre – Member for Anse Aux Pins regarding the newly Remand Centre.

In addition there will be 3 Motions:

  • John Hoareau – Member for Beau Vallon is calling the Ministry of Education to establish a Centre for International English Language Testing System (IELTS) to facilitate the registration for student wishing to pursue overseas studies.
  • Waven William – Member for Grand Anse Mahe is calling the Assembly to approve the demand for Government to implement the Sewage System in all districts bearing in mind the level of development occurring.
  • Nicholas Prea – Member for Bel Ombre is calling the Assembly to approve that Seychellois retiring in Seychelles after dedicated services overseas be entitled for Pension- Social Security. This motion is in line with Article 37 in our Constitution and the Convention for Migrant Workers that Seychelles has ratified.
