THIS WEEK IN THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY
Sitting of Tuesday 7th April, 2015
This week in the National Assembly, the Minister for Health, Mrs. Mitcy Larue will appear before the House for question time.
The Minister will be questioned regarding the following: details on expenses in relation to the SCR 15 million spent in preparing the country for a potential Ebola outbreak; statistics regarding the number of patients on waiting lists to consult eye specialists and the Ministry’s plans to ensure that these patients are tended to; plans to improve the quality of service delivery at the English River clinic as the district’s population grows larger; analysis or studies on the Harm reduction programme and the extent of progress in establishing the Health Information System.
The Minister for Health will also deliver a statement before the House regarding the “State of our Nation’s Health”.
Moreover, the Minister for Fisheries and Agriculture, Mr. Wallace Cosgrow will appear before the House to answer an urgent question posed by the Leader of Government Business. Hon. Marie-Antoinette Rose will enquire about the Ministry’s efforts to eradicate the Hairy Caterpillar pest affecting the country.
Additionally, one motion has been tabled for this sitting. The representative of the Anse Royale District, Hon. Derek Samson will call for the Government to review legislation related to the Licensing Act in a bid to encourage entrepreneurship and the development of small businesses in Seychelles.
