THIS WEEK IN THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY
The Minister for Health, Mrs. Mitcy Larue will be present for question time during this week’s sitting of the National Assembly.
The Minister will provide clarifications on the following: the possibility of assisting patients pay for prescribed medication which is unavailable in hospital or clinic pharmacies; efforts to improve the quality of laboratory services offered by the Seychelles Hospital; provision of services of an ENT specialist at Seychelles Hospital; a possible review of the Public Health Act; research to find the cause behind the growing number of cancer patients; the provision of specialized equipment for the disabled and an incentive scheme for blood donors.
Moreover, two motions have been tabled for this sitting: Hon. Marie-Antoinette Rose, the Leader of Government Business will call for the House to approve the “Minamata Convention on Mecury”, while the representative for Pointe Larue, Hon. Vel will call for the executive to redress the disharmony between the age of consent for sexual activity and the minimum age for prescribing contraception.
