THIS WEEK IN THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY
As the National Assembly resumes its Business this week, the Minister for Home Affairs and Transport, Mr. Joel Morgan will be present in the House to answer 10 questions regarding his Ministry. The questions are related to issues such as the ongoing plan of the Ministry to reform the Police Department; the installation of surveillance cameras on all pay parking, specifically those in town; the Ministry’s plan to construct a Fire and Rescue Station at Anse Royale and the plan of the Ministry in collaboration with the Prison Authority to improve on the Women’s Prison at Montagne Posee.
The Assembly will also consider 2 motions.
The first Motion will be tabled by Hon. David Pierre, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, calling on the Government to urgently commence the necessary processes to commemorate the National Day on the 29th June instead of the 18th June.
The second motion will be tabled by Hon. Emmanuel Fideria, the Member for Les Mamelles requesting the Government to have an incentive program for high level athletes, with the aim of encouraging more young people to join high level sports program.
