This Week in the National Assembly
This week, the Vice- President, Mr. Danny Faure will be in the National Assembly to answer four questions.
In addition, the National Assembly will also debate on two Bills which are the Consumer Protection Bill, 2010 and the National Assembly (Privileges, Immunities and Powers) (Amendment) Bill, 2010.
The Assembly will then consider three motions which appear on this week’s Order Paper.
The first motion will be moved by Hon. Marie-Louise Potter, Leader of Government Business, calling for the National Assembly to ratify the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 6th October 2010.
Hon. Potter will also move another motion calling for the Assembly to ratify the South African Development Community (SADC) Protocol on Gender and Development approved in Johannesburg on 17th August 2008.
Hon. Nicholas Prea, Directly Elected Member for Bel- Ombre, will also move a motion calling for the Assembly to support all effort that is being made to develop and reinforce regional cooperation through the C.O.I., given that the seat of the Secretary General is being held by Seychelles.
