THIS WEEK IN THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY
Three Motions will be debated in the National Assembly this week.
First, Members will consider a Motion by the Leader of Government Business, Hon. Marie-Louise Potter, requesting that the Assembly resolves to approve the Statute of the International Criminal Court adopted in Rome in 1998.
The second Motion will be tabled by Hon. Jean-Francois Ferrari, Member for Mont Fleuri. The Motion is asking the government to put in place procedures to give patients a refund on prescribed medications which are not available in government’s pharmacies.
Hon. Marc Volcere, Member for Grand Anse Praslin will table the last Motion which is calling on the national media to assume a greater role in educating the population on the role of the National Assembly and the responsibilities of its Members. In so doing, this will help promote democracy in the country.
