THIS WEEK IN THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY
The Minister for Education, Employment and Human Resources, Mrs. Macsuzy Mondon will be in the National Assembly this week to answer four questions from Members.
Members will then debate four Bills namely the:
- Employment (Amendment) Bill, 2010
- Penal Code (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill, 2010
- Seychelles Tourism Board (Amendment) Bill, 2010
- Seychelles Media Commission Bill, 2010
The Assembly will also consider two Motions.
Hon. Marc Volcere, Member for Grand Anse Praslin will table the first Motion which is calling on the national media to assume a greater role in educating the population on the role of the National Assembly and the responsibilities of its Members. In so doing, this will help promote democracy in the country.
The second Motion by Hon. Wavel Ramkalawan is requesting that the Ministry of Health conducts a survey among the people residing in the vicinity of the PUC station at Baie Ste Anne, Praslin to establish the prevalence of illnesses such as asthma which might have been caused by pollution from that station.
